Windstream, a private communications and software company shall soon start working on the construction of its $64 million fiber broadband projects. It will start the first of its seven projects in the pipeline.
The fiber-to-the-premises projects have been funded with a $46.3 million grant given by federal American Rescue Plan Act. Windstream will invest $17.2 million in the project. The total cost allotted for the program is $63.5 million. The projects aim to provide customers with fastest internet connectivity and high quality bandwidth. Most importantly, this will expand access to Arkansas people giving them good quality internet connection.
The fiber broadband connection which will serves as a robust broadband connection is important for the future growth of the county. It will surely enhance the daily lives and activities of the people living in the county.Windstream has also been awarded grants for expanding its fiber broadband connection in the counties including Van Buren, Sevier, Searcy, Perry, Faulkner, and Carroll.In the previous year to expand its fiber broadband connection, the company was awarded with nearly $5 million in ARC grants.
