Stryker has agreed to buy Vocera Communications for $2.97 billion. Vocera specializes in communication and workflow platforms as well as provides software to improve data sharing among patients and doctor.The company also develops smart wearable devices for healthcare professionals and smartphone applications. Styrker has taken this step forward to enhance digital healthcare offerings and play a key role in patient safety tools used across healthcare facilities.
In September Stryker acquired Gauss Surgical and is planning to ink more such deals in forthcoming days. The company officials stating about the acquisition said that, Vocera acquisition will accelerate Stryker digital aspirations and improve lives of the healthcare community as well as the patients.
Vocera with its new acquisition and building up profit for the company businesses over years is planning to attract strategic buyers from different industry verticals. The company plans to acquire such companies involved in digital healthcare systems. Styrker has taken this step forward to enhance digital healthcare offerings and play a key role in patient safety tools used across healthcare facilities. Some of other Vocera customers also include hotels, restaurants, school libraries, and retail shops.
