Spring is on its way (we swear), and Philips Hue, a smart lighting firm, has several new devices that will help you spruce up your outdoor space so you can spend more time outside after the ice melts. Philips Hue parent company, Signify, has announced three new additions to its outdoor smart lighting portfolio, all of which will be available in the United States on March 1st, 2022. In addition, two new lighting effects will be available on the Hue app later this year to complement the company’s indoor smart bulbs.
The Philips Hue Inara wall light is a vintage-style outdoor wall light with a filament bulb ($99.99, available March 1st). A filament bulb, often known as an Edison bulb, has its “electric” filament visible through the bulb, similar to Thomas Edison’s original incandescent bulb. This classic style is prevalent in exposed-bulb fixtures, and they’ve been seen all throughout the house for a time.
The new Lucca wall light ($99.99, arriving March 1st) is an outdoor wall fixture with a spherical form and black bands wrapped around it for something more colourful and a lot more contemporary. The Lucca is designed to be bold and brilliant, with white or color-changing light, making it a wonderful choice for smart lighting on a porch or balcony space where you want to be able to see what you’re doing.
