At CES 2022 this week, Arlo’s revealed the upcoming launch of its long-awaited home security system, and the product was even named a 2022 CES Innovation Award honoree. The business, which is recognised for its high-quality smart security cameras, has also revealed its support for Matter, which could indicate that a Matter security camera standard isn’t far off. The company’s comprehensive spectrum of home security cameras is a logical fit for the DIY security monitoring solution.
It seemed so natural that it unveiled one at CES 2019! While that product was never released, the most recent Arlo’s Security System is a thorough overhaul. The new all-in-one multi-sensors with eight different functions, as well as NFC integration into the hub, allow users to disarm the system by tapping their phone. The system will be ready for purchase in the first half of 2022, according to Arlo’s.
However, no specifics on what those integrations will involve were provided. We also don’t know how much the system will cost or whether you’ll have to sign up for Arlo’s Secure, monthly subscription service for its cameras, which starts at $3 a month. My opinion is that there will be a charge to use the system, while there does not appear to be a professional monitoring option at this time.
